***LAYTON ROCKETS TO TOP***

~TAKES OVER FIRST PLACE ~ENGLEHAUPT/HENKE WIN MEMBER-MEMBER~HENKE GETS AOM

The 3 rd month of the inaugural STATracker season for the Ladies Golf Association at the HarbourPointe Golf Club, came to a close this past week with the final event of the month, the Maypole Ribbon round.

The month of May saw a flurry of major events which included the annual LGA President’s Cup and the first ever HPGC sanctioned Member-Member championship. Further, there was the monthly Ace Of The Month determination. Let’s get to all that and more…

First of all, SUE LAYTON, who came into the month of May as the #6 ranked player in the field

with 115 points, caught fire during the month amassing 184 points for the month! She achieved all that by first winning the annual LGA President’s Cup. During the 2-day tourney, Layton scored 8 pars, 3 birdies, a poley and 2 CTPs. Winning the cup was good for another 50 points. In the HPGC Member/Member, Layton and her teammate CINDY PELLIGRINI, took the runner up position for another 30 points that day. So Layton has has taken over first place in the MAG Cup standings. She has 299 points heading into June with PENNY SULLIVAN in the chase position, just 15 points behind the leader.

Speaking of the Member/Member tournament, it was the seasoned team of SHARON HENKE and KRIS ENGELHAUPT taking the top honors there. On their way to their win they scored a total of 7 pars, 1 bird and 4 poleys plus… the 50 points each for the victory. As a result, Henke moved up from the #9 position at the end of April to the #3 spot and Engelhaupt moved up 4 spots from 11 th to 7 th position.

In addition, Henke also captured the AOM honors for the month of May with her performance on May 2 nd . Henke scored 4 pars and a poley on her way to that victory. In the second and third flights in the tourney, a two-way tie occurred in both instances. Flight-2 saw PAM NOLAN and SUE MATHES battle to a draw and as well in Flight-3 where KATHY FULLER and PENNY SULLIVAN eventually stayed locked up.

Now, on the last round of the month, it was the President herself, having a day. CHERYL

FURMAN lit it up on the course with her best performance this season thus far. Furman piled up 65 points this past Thursday when she helped her team to a first place win along with scoring 2 pars, 2 poleys, a near sweep with 5 dodges and 2 chip-ins!!

A Big WELCOME to RITA GILLHAM, who joined the LGA field and participated in her first

round this past week. She started her LGA STATracker career scoring 11 points with her first team victory and 2 poleys.
