The volunteers at the FH Hospital Auxiliary are beginning this new year by planning a bake sale on April 1 to coincide with the community yard sale. The members set up in the community center early Saturday morning, and we sell delicious melt-in-your-mouth cinnamon rolls fresh from the oven and piping hot coffee. Our volunteers also make sweet baked goods like cakes, bread, muffins, and delicious cookies. We always offer a 50/50 raffle, which is a lot of fun for all, especially the winner. The money we raise from our bake sales allows the auxiliary to purchase items such as yarn for lap robes, shawls, baby blankets, and material for surgery pillows, fidgets, and toys. Our vision is to always care for the Carolina East patients and make their stays more comfortable and less stressful, along with supporting the hospital in any way possible.
Last December 23, the auxiliary, with the help of Santa and Mrs. Claus, provided hospital patients with 200 handmade stockings filled with all kinds of personal necessities along with some entertaining games and puzzles. We gave five fun-filled stockings to children who were at the hospital, as well. The stocking project is a project that takes all year to prepare for, and the Knights of Columbus supports the auxiliary project every year with a monetary donation, and this year they donated $200! Thank you, KOC!!
The auxiliary members are all invited and looking forward to a spring potluck dinner on March 29. The potluck dinner is always a terrific way to come together and enjoy each other's company and some delicious food.
The FFH Hospital auxiliary meets on the third Monday of almost every month at the Community Center from 9:30 to 10:30. The Auxiliary does not hold meetings during the summer months of July and August. It's a great way to meet new friends and become involved in our community by helping CarolinaEast Medical Center.
