Our guest speaker for this month’s meeting was NC Wildlife Officer David Midyette and his assistant. The officers were very informative on the rules & regulations pertaining to game fish limits, sizes and possession in our local waters. Our local waters consist of “Inland, Coastal and Joint waters” This tends to get very confusing as each have their own regulations and can have different enforcement companies that have jurisdiction over the same waterways. One can be in “Inland Waterways” one minute and the in “Coastal Waterways” the next. To make sure you are doing everything legally, you need to know what the rules are in all waterways. If in doubt, practice catch and release!
CCA Banquet
The CCA banquet is being held on March 6th at their Convention Center in New Bern. The FCFH voted on purchasing a 4 Top Table, then the seats were raffled off to 4 lucky members. Each winner will now only pay half the cost as the club will pick up the other half. Tickets are still available for this event at $90 per person and $150 per couple.
Raffle
Tickets were sold for an ultra light rod & reel & a case of lures. (A starter kit of everything you will need to fish our local waters). Tickets will also be sold at the March meeting with the drawing to be held at the end of the March meeting. $5/ticket for a $200 value.
The purchase of tee shirts was discussed. Anyone wanting to buy a tee shirt with the club logo needs to let Harvey know with the size of the shirt.
50/50
The 50/50 was won by club member Dan Dudley. Congratulations!
