This past week was Spring Break for Craven County Schools. We took Adrian to two local kid-friendly places: the Museum of Life and Sciences in Durham and the NC Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores. Below is an interview with him about these locations.
Museum of Life and Science
What are you most excited about?
I am most excited to play in hide away forest. It's a super fun playground in their outdoor part which is my favorite.
What was your favorite part indoors at the museum?
I liked the indoor turtles, snakes and birds. I wish the otters had been swimming.
What did you learn about?
I learned about outer space stuff and there is an actual spaceship inside. There is a replica shuttle too you can play inside. You can play a game where you shoot marbles and try to land them on a space pod.
What was your favorite part outdoors at the museum?
The hideaway forest playground is high in the trees and is so fun to play in. You go from tree house to tree house and there are moving rope ladders and slides. (see his drawing of this below)

NC Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shore
What are you most excited about?
I am excited to see the reptiles. Snakes especially. I also hope there are things I can play and climb on.
What was your favorite land animal?
My favorite animal was the diamondback rattlesnake. I like the diamond patterns. I wish I could hear it rattle but it was sleeping.
What was your favorite water animal?
I liked seeing all the turtles, one was albino and it was a pink-white color which I have never seen before. That was really interesting.
Anything else to add?
The aquarium had DAIRY QUEEN! Ice cream is my favorite treat!
