October is Fire Prevention Month (and week October 9th - 15th.) The goal is to raise fire safety awareness and help ensure your home and family is protected. In 1922, the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) named the second week of October Fire Prevention Week in commemoration of the Great Chicago Fire in 1871.
The National Fire Protection Association® (NFPA®) has announced “Fire Won't Wait. Plan Your Escape™” as the theme for Fire Prevention Week™, October 9-15, reinforcing the critical importance of developing a home escape plan with all members of the household and practicing it regularly.
In the event of a fire in your home, dial 911. Dialing 911 will trigger an alarm system that will alert our Tri Community Vol Fire Department, located at 589 Broad Creek Rd, New Bern, NC. (252) 637-6911
