My name is Gibson, named after my dad’s guitar. I am a Westie-Pomeranian mix. I was rescued In Tampa Fl by my parents, Jim and Jody Fortuna, who were cruising on a sailboat in St. Augustine. They brought my stepbrother, Burgee a Scottie, to the shelter to meet me, and he liked me, and we became a family. I had my first dinghy ride to my new home on Tarantella (the sailboat). It was a little scary living on a boat, but my parents took me to shore to visit the grass three times a day. I would walk with my dad around St. Augustine, where I visited all the shops that gave dog treats. I liked the pizza samples the best. My parents bought a house on Crooked Creek Drive, where I learned to chase deer. I love most people, other dogs, and cats; my best friends are Rocket, Bubby, Charlie, and Foxy (a cat). I really enjoy golf cart rides, outdoor concerts, and the beach. My dad had a lung transplant, and I was trained to be a service dog. Now I can go everywhere with my family and have become the mascot for the Cleveland Clinic lung transplant unit, which I have visited five times, but they never have treats there.
