This is a conversation that Paul Cormier from The Beacon had recently with longtime Fairfield Harbour Resident Harbour Pointe Golf Club Member, Bruce Hice, who is a veteran golfer and a regular in Men's Golf Association Events on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings.
PC: Hi Bruce, Thanks for spending some time with us today.
BH: It's great to share some of my HPGC memories with you.
PC: How long have you been a Member of Harbour Pointe Golf Club?
BH: 17 years.
PC: Wow! That's a long time. Which hole is your favorite at HPGC?
BH: The 8th hole. It's short par 4 over water with your Tee shot and a Bunker guards the left front of the Green.
PC: Yes, it is a pretty par 4 where you can see scores from a deuce to an 8. The further left you take for a line with your Tee shot is a longer carry but, you leave yourself with a flip Wedge to the Green. There is way less risk in playing your Tee out to the right and have a longer approach to the Green. What are a couple of your favorite courses that you have played over the years?

BH: I played Pebble Beach and St. Andrew's.
PC: Wow! The home of Golf and PB. It doesn't get any better than that. Who is in your dream foursome?
BH: For me, it would be Myself, Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, and Tiger Woods.
PC: Tough to argue with those choices, 3 of the greatest players ever and 3 men who have had a colossal impact on growing the game. What did you shoot in your career round at HPGC?
BH: 76.
PC: Fantastic score! Please tell us about your favorite memory of playing MGA events.
BH: That's easy. I made a Birdie on the 17th hole in our President's Cup Match several years ago which helped our team.
PC: Bruce, That's awesome! Thanks for spending some time with The Beacon today.
BH: Thank you.
